About Energizer

Energizer Holdings is based in St. Louis, Missouri, and traces its history to the Eveready Battery Company founded in 1896. Eveready sold the first commercial dry cell flashlight batteries, and the Energizer name was introduced in 1980 for its premium alkaline line. The brand also owns Eveready and Rayovac in the United States and is known worldwide for the Energizer Bunny, which has appeared in its advertising since 1989.

Energizer Max is a standard alkaline cell with leak protection the company calls PowerSeal, and it carries a long shelf-life rating of up to 10 years for AA and AAA. Ultimate Lithium uses a lithium iron disulfide chemistry that is lighter than alkaline, stores for up to 20 years and works from about -40 to 140 F, which is why it is used in outdoor and photography gear. Energizer Recharge NiMH cells come pre-charged and can be reused hundreds of times.

Offices buy Max AA and AAA by the case for wireless mice, keyboards, remotes and clocks. Facility and safety teams keep 9V for smoke alarms and D cells for emergency lighting. Field crews and photographers use Ultimate Lithium where cold or weight matters. Hospitals, labs and schools stock coin cells for thermometers, scales, calculators and key fobs.

Energizer buying guide

How to pick the right Energizer product and pack size.

  1. Alkaline, lithium or rechargeable

Max alkaline is the lowest-cost choice for low and medium drain devices like remotes and clocks. Ultimate Lithium costs more but lasts far longer in high-drain and cold conditions and weighs about a third less. Recharge NiMH pays off in devices that eat batteries weekly.

  2. Know your coin cell number

Coin cell codes describe size: CR2032 is 20 mm wide and 3.2 mm thick, CR2025 is 2.5 mm thick and CR2016 is 1.6 mm thick. They are not interchangeable in every device even when the diameter matches. Check the number stamped on the old cell before ordering.

  3. Bulk packs and shelf life

Energizer Max AA and AAA carry a shelf-life rating of up to 10 years and Ultimate Lithium up to 20 years, so buying bulk boxes is safe for most buyers. Store batteries at room temperature in original packaging and rotate stock by the date printed on the pack.

  4. 9V and smoke detectors

Most smoke and carbon monoxide alarms take a 9V alkaline or a 9V lithium. Energizer Max 9V is the standard replacement and should be changed yearly; Ultimate Lithium 9V lasts longer in alarms that drain batteries quickly. Facility teams should order 9V by the dozen for scheduled changes.

Can I buy Energizer batteries in bulk or wholesale?

Yes. Business members pay $49 a year for wholesale and case-pack pricing. While the Energizer range is being restocked, request a bulk quote from the cart or contact SNILLC for case and pallet pricing on Max alkaline, Ultimate Lithium, rechargeables and coin cells.

What Energizer products does SNILLC carry?

The SNILLC Energizer range covers Max alkaline AA, AAA, C, D and 9V, Ultimate Lithium AA and AAA, Recharge NiMH batteries and chargers, lithium coin cells and specialty cells, and LED flashlights and headlamps. The catalog is being restocked right now, so request a quote or set a back-in-stock alert for the items you need.

Do you ship Energizer batteries nationwide and how fast?

SNILLC ships Energizer products to all 50 states from its California warehouse with tracking on every order. Items marked Ready to ship leave fastest. Lithium batteries ship by ground within the United States only.

Is there a minimum order for Energizer batteries?

No. Retail shoppers can buy a single multipack once items are in stock. Retail orders of $60 or more ship free; smaller orders pay a $9.99 flat rate. Wholesale pricing requires a business membership, and bulk boxes and cases give the best per-battery price.

What is the difference between Energizer Max and Ultimate Lithium?

Energizer Max is an alkaline battery for everyday devices with a shelf life of up to 10 years. Ultimate Lithium is a lithium battery that lasts much longer in high-drain devices, weighs about a third less, works from -40 to 140 F and stores for up to 20 years. Both are 1.5 V and fit the same devices.

How long do Energizer batteries last in storage?

Energizer Max AA and AAA are rated to hold power for up to 10 years in storage, C, D and 9V for several years, and Ultimate Lithium for up to 20 years. Store them at room temperature in original packaging and use the oldest stock first.

Which Energizer coin cell replaces a CR2032?

Only another CR2032. The number describes the size, 20 mm wide and 3.2 mm thick, and the chemistry, 3 V lithium. A CR2025 is the same diameter but thinner and may not make contact. Match the number printed on the old cell or in the device manual.

Can Energizer Recharge batteries replace alkaline AA?

Yes, in most devices. Energizer Recharge NiMH AA and AAA are 1.2 V rather than 1.5 V, which works fine in cameras, flashlights, keyboards and toys but can read as low in some devices with battery meters. They come pre-charged and can be recharged hundreds of times.
